About
The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.All 4th and 5th graders are invited to participate in this year’s musical, Beauty and the Beast JR. Students will have the opportunity to perform on stage in the cast or work behind the scenes as part of the crew. They will develop self-confidence, expand their imagination, and practice teamwork.Our director, Lizzy Asarnow, is returning! Lizzy teaches music at Thornhill Elementary in Oakland and has previously directed at Bay Area Children's Theater and served as Education Director at Contra Costa Civic Theater.Registration is limited to 44 actors & 20 crew members (2 Casts of 22 actors / 10 crew). A wait list will be made available.

Schedule
All students who register for the cast will get a role, and may indicate a preferred rehearsal time.The first two weeks are "try-ons", when actors can try-on different roles.
